Dr. Orazio L. Giliberti, FACS is a board certified ophthalmologist and laser certified refractive surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He owns and operates a private practice, Giliberti Eye and Laser Center, located in Totowa, New Jersey. He leads a team of fellow physicians, which includes Dr. Francesca M. Giliberti, an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, as well as Dr. Dominick I. Golio, an ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon.

Giliberti Eye and Laser Center is a comprehensive eye care center that is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and laser equipment, and boasts an in-house laser vision correction suite. With an AMO VISX Star S4 IR excimer laser and the WaveScan WaveFront diagnostic system, Dr. Giliberti offers custom care in the latest methods of refractive surgery, including: bladeless PRK, epi-LASEK, and LASIK. He was trained in laser vision correction in Canada prior to FDA approval in the United States, and was the first ophthalmologist in New Jersey to receive training in Toronto directly with VISX, the world’s leading eye laser company.

Dr. Giliberti is also an innovator in laser cataract surgery and special uses of custom multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) implants. Giliberti Eye and Laser Center is among the first eye care centers in New Jersey to offer patients advanced laser cataract surgery with astigmatism correction using the OptiMedica Catalys Laser System and the LenSx Laser System. Dr. Giliberti exclusively performs all laser cataract surgeries at River Drive Surgery and Laser Center.

In addition to being in private practice, Dr. Giliberti holds many University positions. At St. George’s University School of Medicine (Grenada), he is a Professor and Director of Ophthalmology, as well as the Associate Dean of Clinical Studies. At Seton Hall University, Dr. Giliberti is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Chairman of the GME Department of Ophthalmology. At Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Giliberti has received the Physician Recognition Award each year from the American Medical Association (AMA), as well Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors: New York Metro Area and Inside New Jersey Magazine Top Doctors. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) and American College of Surgeons (ACS).
