Dr. Lawrence Geyman is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist specializing in cataract surgery and glaucoma management and surgery. Dr. Geyman attended Columbia University and graduated with Departmental Honors in Biology and a minor in Music. He subsequently attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he graduated with Distinction in Research and as an inductee into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During his medical education, he pursued a year of research at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, focusing on metabolic and vascular imaging in glaucoma.
After interning at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, Dr. Geyman completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Geyman completed his training as a Glaucoma Fellow at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he was exposed to the most advanced methods in glaucoma management by internationally renowned specialists. Over the course of his education and training, Dr. Geyman has led projects to improve patient education, and his research has been published in leading journals such as Ophthalmology Glaucoma and JAMA Ophthalmology, among others. He has given podium presentations at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology conference and has been featured on the educational glaucoma podcast Diagnosis Glaucoma.
Dr. Geyman prioritizes patient education and satisfaction and strives to build a warm patient-physician relationship. He strongly believes in empowering patients to make healthcare decisions that align with their goals. Dr. Geyman looks forward to serving his patients to improve their vision and quality of life. Dr. Geyman is fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian. In his spare time, he enjoys playing acoustic guitar, traveling, and spending time with his family.
