Dr. Bevacqua received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1989 and his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1994. Following medical school, he completed a three year ophthalmology residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York where he trained in medicine and surgery of the eyes. Dr. Bevacqua served as chief resident.
Dr. Bevacqua is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been in private practice since 1998 specializing in medicine and surgery of the eyes. Dr. Bevacqua performs state of the art surgery including no-stitch cataract surgery and custom cornea LASIK. Dr. Bevacqua has personally performed thousands of surgical and refractive procedures and is highly regarded among his peers as being a premier eye surgeon, receiving surgical referrals from regional Ophthalmologists. Dr. Bevacqua also spent several years during his training at a regional trauma center treating traumatic eye injuries. Dr. Bevacqua has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.
Dr. Bevacqua is a diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been listed as a top eye physician in regional publications including “The Consumer’s Research Council”.
